Lucy McLauchlan

Cooler than a penguin's ice bucket, Lucy McLauchlan is an artist whose environmental and conservation ethos play an important role in her work. Mainly working in monochrome, often with the addition of one other colour, her work is bold with a contemporary graphic sensibility.

Lucy's large-scale artworks are as at home hanging in galleries and museums (including the permanent public collection in the Victoria and Albert Museum) as they are out in the wider world, covering multi-story buildings across Europe, gigantic billboards in China, windows in Japan, huts in The Gambia, Italian water towers, Norwegian lighthouse, Detroit car parks, abandoned NYC subway tunnels and the facade of her hometown library in Birmingham.

Implicit within her work is a deep respect for nature as she draws inspiration from her immediate environment; allowing it to inform and direct an intuitive, explorative process.
